Havelock, N.C : Woman dies in crash on Catfish Lake Road early Saturday, December 31, 2016

A New Bern woman has been identified as the person killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Catfish Lake Road early on New Year’s Eve.

The N.C. Highway Patrol said Kristina Elaine Sheehan, 26, of New Bern, was alone at the time of the crash, which occurred around 2:45 a.m. Saturday.

Details about the wreck were not immediately available.

The crash occurred near the Pine Grove Road, which is a section of road that’s not paved.

According to social media postings, Sheehan was originally from Massachusetts and had two daughters, ages 2 and 5.

Trooper S. Casner investigated the crash and was not available to comment.
