Beckley, WV : Man crashes car into library in Sophia on Thursday, December, 21st 2017

A man crashed into the Sophia Branch Library Thursday afternoon, according to Raleigh County emergency dispatchers.

Dispatchers said the call came in around 12:35 p.m., and Sophia Police Department and Sophia City Fire Department responded.

The library's branch manager Danette Taylor said the driver was an older man and was taking his granddaughter to the library to pick up some movies.

"I believe he may have just accidentally stepped on the gas instead of the brakes and ran into the wall of the building," Taylor said. "But no major damage was done."

Dispatchers confirmed no injuries were reported.
