Greenville, S.C : 86-year-old woman dies in wreck in Townville on Wednesday afternoon, October 5, 2016

An 86-year-old Townville woman, the daughter of a former Anderson mayor, died in a Wednesday afternoon wreck.

Anderson County Coroner Greg Shore said Nancy Bobo was driving at the intersection of McAdams and Ramage roads in Townville when she pulled out in front of a Dodge pickup truck and was hit.

Shore said she died on the scene.

He said it was not related to a funeral procession that was happening Wednesday for 6-year-old Jacob Hall, who died after being wounded in a school shooting last week.

The pickup truck driver was injured and was taken to AnMed Health Medical Center, said South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Hovis.

The driver was not charged, although the wreck is being investigated by the state patrol's accident reconstruction team, Hovis said.

Bobo was headed to her sister's house, about 3 or 4 miles from her own place, Shore said.

He said Bobo was a daughter of Bill Johnston.

Johnston served seven terms, five of them consecutively, as Anderson's mayor from the 1940s through the 1960s. He lost a race for governor in 1968.
