JERSEYVILLE, IL : Jerseyville man dies in accident on Illinois 109 about a quarter mile south of McClusky Road on Wednesday, 19th February, 2020

A Wednesday evening accident has claimed the life of a Jerseyville man.
David J. Carroll, 18, died in a single-vehicle accident at 5:16 p.m. Wednesday on Illinois 109 about a quarter mile south of McClusky Road south of Jerseyville, according to Illinois State Police Master Sgt. David Brunnworth.
Carroll was driving a 2008 Dodge Avenger south on Illinois 109 when he failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway, Brunnworth said. He ran off the roadway and struck a tree, suffering fatal injuries He was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Jersey County Coroner’s Office.No further information was available Thursday morning.
