Las Vegas, NV : Driver dead in rollover crash on I-15 north of Las Vegas on Tuesday, August 2, 2016

The Nevada Highway Patrol says a driver is dead after a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 15 in the Apex area north of Las Vegas.

Trooper Chelsea Stuenkel said today the wreck happened a little after 8 p.m. Tuesday on the northbound freeway about 3 miles north of the junction with U.S. 93

The name of the male driver wasn't immediately made public.

Stuenkel says it's not clear yet why he lost control of the white Honda CRV.

He was thrown from the vehicle during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene.
