MINERSVILLE, UT : 1 teen dead, another critically injured in car crash near Beaver on Thursday, 25th July 2019

A teenager is dead after a car rollover crash Thursday on state Route 21, according to Utah Highway Patrol officials.

Troopers originally reported an adult man had died, but later said it was a 14-year-old boy who died in the crash.

The boy was a passenger in the car, and the driver was a 17-year-old boy who was flown via medical helicopter in critical condition to Dixie Regional Medical Center. Officials originally said the driver was in serious but stable condition, but later said he was in critical.

About 2:38 p.m. a white Chevrolet Blazer was eastbound on S.R. 21 when it drifted off to the right shoulder for an unknown reason, according to a UHP news release.

The driver then veered too far left and the car rolled as it reentered the eastbound lane, troopers said.

Both the driver and passenger were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the car. The westbound lane was temporarily closed after the crash but reopened by 6:45 p.m., according to UHP.

The names of those involved in the crash were not released.
