A former UMass Dartmouth student, seriously injured in a single-car crash on State Road near the Dartmouth line, has died from his injuries, police said.
Taylor Green, 27, lost control of his 2006 Nissan Altima about 12:50 a.m. Monday when he failed to negotiate a turn in the road, crossed the median and struck a large granite post on the opposite side of State Road, police said.
Green was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and was in critical condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
Westport Detective Jeff Majewski said Green died Monday night at the hospital. Green was formerly a fine arts student at UMass Dartmouth. He was originally from Aurora, IL., and was living in South Dartmouth at the time of his death.
