Madison man dies in crash near Salem
Sioux Falls, South Dakota
A Madison man died Tuesday just west of Salem in a crash caused by a blown tire.
Gerald Kenneth Ottoson, 60, was headed west on 252nd Street in a 1995 Kenworth truck when a front tire blew out.
The truck crossed the centerline and entered a ditch. It struck a field approach, hit several trees and rolled.
Ottoson died of his injuries at the scene of the crash.
He was not wearing his seatbelt.
