Owenton, KY : 2-year-old dies when off-road vehicle crashes on Sunday evening, August 14, 2016

Kentucky State Police say a 2-year-old boy has died after the off-road vehicle he was riding in crashed.

Police said in a statement on Monday that the boy was a passenger in a side by side off-road vehicle that overturned Sunday evening at a roadway intersection in Owenton. A second passenger, 24-year-old Cheyanne Fredrick, suffered serious injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth in Owenton.

Police say 27-year-old Spencer Lawson of Owenton was operating the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
