Petoskey, MI : One injured, children in vehicle OK in crash near Oleson's Friday, August 12, 2016

One person was transported to the hospital following a two-car accident on U.S. 31 last week.

The accident happened around 11 a.m. Friday across from the Oleson's grocery plaza on U.S. 31 in Petoskey.

The driver of the black Jeep Grand Cherokee was headed north on U.S. 31, when it collided with a tan Toyota Camry that was turning left out of the grocery store parking lot, according to the Emmet County Sheriff's Office.

Emmet County Sheriff Pete Wallin said that two children were in the Grand Cherokee, but neither was hurt in the accident.

The driver of the Camry was transported to McLaren Northern Michigan by Emmet County EMS. Resort Bear Creek Township Fire Department also responded to the scene.
