ABBEVILLE, LA : A pedestrian-vehicle crash on Louisiana 14 in Vermilion Parish on Thursday, 19th April 2018

An Erath woman died Thursday in a pedestrian-vehicle crash on Louisiana 14 in Vermilion Parish, according to Louisiana State Police.

Troop I Master Trooper Brooks David said in a prepared statement that 59-year-old Gloria Yanna of Erath was killed near Marcus Park in Vermilion Parish at approximately 12:30 p.m.

David said the preliminary investigation revealed Yanna parked her vehicle on the westbound shoulder of Louisiana 14 to cross the highway, and entered the right line eastbound when she was struck by a 2016 Ford Explorer driven by 28-year-old Kaitlin Rogers of Erath.
