Lubbock, TX : Car crashes into house, sets house and car on fire in Saturday 27th August 2016.


A driver crashed a car into a Lubbock home, catching both the car and the house on fire.
The Lubbock Police Department and Lubbock Fire Rescue responded to the scene of the crash and fire at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday morning. The crash was in the 800 block of E. Municipal Drive.
According to LPD, the impact of that crash caused both the car and the house to catch fire, and there was "significant damage" to the home.
LPS is searching for the driver responsible, they believe it was a Hispanic male who ran from the scene before police arrived.
No one was injured inside of the home.
KCBD's photographer on scene said the area smelled of smoke even hours after the fire was put out. The homeowners laid out some of their things and covered them with tarps to protect from the smoke damage.
