DOLA, WV : One fatality reported in Thursday afternoon Dola crash on Thursday, 26th August, 2016

One person has died as the result of a single-vehicle accident that occurred shortly before 3 p.m. on Wallace Pike in Dola.

The driver was an 80-year-old woman, said Sgt. P.D. Diaz of the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department.

“She ran off the road, and there was nothing apparent to cause her to run off the road,” Diaz said. “It could’ve been a medical emergency or she could’ve just fallen asleep.”

An accident reconstructionist was called to the scene, he said.

The Lumberport Fire Department and Harrison EMS responded. The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating.
