Bluefield, W.V : One injured in motorcycle accident near the Frank S. Easley Bridge on Tuesday, August 16, 2016

One man was transported Tuesday to a local hospital after a motorcycle and a car collided near the Frank S. Easley Bridge in Bluefield.

The crash was reported approximately 2 p.m in the intersection between the Easley Bridge and Cherry Street. Members of the Bluefield Rescue Squad transported the Kawasaki motorcycle’s rider to Bluefield Regional Medical Center, Patrolman D.A. Williams of the Bluefield Police Department said.

The motorcycle rider was the only person transported from the crash.

A Chevrolet Spark collided with the motorcycle. Williams said he and Patrolman J.B. Fox were investigating, and additional information was not immediately available.

Units of the Bluefield Fire Department was also dispatched, and north and south traffic on U.S. Route 52 continued to move while the scene was being cleared.
