Georgetown County , SC : Fatal car crash one man died in car crash Thursday July 3 2014.

Richard Weldon, 50, from Illinois, died in a car crash in Georgetown County Thursday, according to Georgetown County Deputy Coroner Chase Ridgeway. The crash happened around 8 p.m. at the Highway 17 Business and Bypass split in Murrells Inlet. According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, Weldon was driving a Chrysler heading south on U.S. 17 Bypass then tried to cross U.S. 17 when the crash happened. Weldon died from multiple trauma, according to Ridgeway. Four passengers in his car were taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center, according to SCHP.
