A 65-year-old Chesterfield Township man was killed Friday morning in a one-vehicle crash in Macomb Township, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.
The deceased driver has been identified as George Micakovich, 65, the lone occupant of a Chevrolet Trax that was traveling northbound on Foss Road at about 6:30 a.m. and didn’t stop where Foss ends and struck a tree, sheriff’s officials said. It appears Micakovich did not brake.
He was unresponsive and transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
It appears Micakovich was not wearing a seat belt, and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be involved, officials said.
