Town of Herman, WI : Serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash in Dodge County on Sunday night, December 28, 2014

A two-vehicle accident involving serious injuries in Dodge County Sunday night closed down a highway.

The Dodge County Sheriff's Department reported that the injuries might be life-threatening but did not provide details.

Callers began phoning the Sheriff's Department at 7:09 p.m. Sunday to report a crash at the intersection of state Highway 33 and county Highway AY in the Town of Herman. One of the vehicles ignited after the accident, but the fire was quickly extinguished.

Portions of Highway 33 were closed to allow emergency vehicles and a medical helicopter to respond to the scene.
