Police in Little Rock are seeking the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed a woman, then fled the scene. A police report released Monday says 47-year-old Jesusa Chavez was struck while crossing Mabelvale Pike in southwest Little Rock early Sunday and was dead on arrival at a local hospital. The report says a man who was crossing the street with Chavez told officers it appeared the vehicle sped up before striking the women, then drove away. Two other witnesses described the vehicle as a mid-size sport utility vehicle, possibly silver, and said they last saw it heading southbound from the scene.
