Omaha, NE : Six injured in south-central Omaha collision on Tuesday, October, 17th 2017

Six people suffered non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday night when two cars collided in south-central Omaha, police said.

A 2010 Mitsubishi Galant attempted about 6:30 p.m. to turn from northbound 84th Street to westbound Papillion Parkway under a green traffic light. It collided with a southbound 2009 Dodge Charger, police said.

The Dodge's driver, Parris Stamps, 28, intended to pass Papillion Parkway under a green traffic light. Stamps was speeding, police said.

In January, Stamps and Ashlynn Higgins, 23, were shot as they sat in a car near 28th and Ruggles Streets. Higgins died, and Stamps barely survived.

Four people in the Mitsubishi and three people in the Dodge were taken to Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy.

Orzu Sangov, 32, was driving the Mitsubishi. He suffered a cut on his head and a possible back injury, police said.

Three children were in the backseat: A 7-year-old suffered a broken left wrist and a 9-year-old was treated for general pain. A 1- or 2-year-old was not injured, police said.

Stamps suffered a broken femur, police said.

His passengers were Alexandra Birkes, 28, who suffered a possible hip injury, and Katelyn McFarland, 20, who suffered a lacerated spleen, police said.
