Manhattan, KS : Three injured after one-car crash near Manhattan on Monday afternoon, November 10, 2014

Two adults and one child were taken to a hospital in Manhattan after the car they were in crashed Monday afternoon. Melanie L. Stubbs, 22, of Manhattan, was driving a 2011 Nissan Rogue approximately 12 miles from Manhattan on Interstate 70 when she fell asleep at the wheel, according to a crash log from the Kansas Highway Patrol. The SUV went off the road and stuck a cross-over barrier. The impact propelled the vehicle into the air and it came to a stop on its roof in the median, the report said. Stubbs and Kaleb M. Dugan, 22, of Manhattan, sustained injuries, the release said. Kristian M. Dugan, 2, was taken from the scene to be checked for possible injuries. The infant, according to the release, was in a car seat and both Dugan and Stubbs were wearing seat belts. All three were taken to Manhattan Mercy Health Center for treatment.
