Thibodaux, LA : A 22-year-old Chauvin man was killed this morning in a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday, June 27, 2017

A 22-year-old Chauvin man was killed this morning in a single-vehicle crash on a local roadway, State Police said.
According to State Police Troop C spokesman Jesse LaGrange, Reed Ledet of Chauvin was killed shortly after 5 a.m. this morning after he lost control of the 2006 GMC pickup truck he was driving.
Ledet was traveling south on La. 56 on a left curve near Klondyke Road in Klondyke and for reasons still under investigation crossed the fog line to the right and ran off the roadway, State Police said. After running off the roadway, Ledet struck a tree and was ejected from the vehicle.
Ledet, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on the scene by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner’s Office, LaGrange said.
The Coroner’s Office is expected to conduct a toxicology test to determine if impairment played a role in the crash, State Police said. Investigators suspected high speed to be a factor.
