Devils Lake,ND : One injured in Devils Lake crash on July, Tuesday 4th 2017

A driver was injured Tuesday after striking a pontoon boat being pulled by another vehicle in Ramsey County, according to the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
Keenan Devier, 19, Crary, N.D., was driving a 2015 Chrysler 200 west on U.S. Highway 2 about 3 miles east of Devils Lake, N.D., when the crash occurred at 2:20 p.m. Devier was in the left lane when the vehicle in front of him, a 2014 Lincoln Navigator pulling a 1991 Forester Pontoon on a trailer, slowed to make a left turn with pontoon trailer lights that were not operational.

Devier was following too close and was unable to stop and struck the rear left side of the pontoon boat, causing his vehicle to enter the center median and become airborne into the east median of the highway, the patrol said.

Devier, who was wearing a seat belt, was injured and transported by Lake Region Ambulance Service to CHI St. Alexius Health in Devils Lake.

The driver of the Lincoln, Terrence Frelich, 47, Devils Lake, was wearing a seat belt and was not injured, the patrol said. The patrol said there was disabling damage to the pontoon.

Devils Lake and Devils Lake Rural fire departments also responded to the scene.
