Orlando,FL : Driver in critical condition after fiery accident on I-95 ramp on January, Monday 22nd 2018

Tampa man is in critical condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center after the semi-truck he was driving struck a concrete barrier, overturned and became engulfed in flames Monday morning in Brevard County, the Florida Hightway Patrol said.

The accident occurred on the Interstate 95 entrance ramp from State Road 528 at 6 a.m., spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Montes said. Dumy Thelus, 29, was traveling east on S.R. 528 and was trying to exit onto I-95 south when he lost control of his vehicle, Montes said.

Thelus escaped as fire overtook his truck, Montes said. Debris from the crash struck a passing SUV, which sustained minor damage, according to the report. The SUV driver was not injured, Montes said.

The crash remains under investigation.
