A Venezuelan equestrian has been killed in a car crash in Palm Beach County.
Andres Rodriguez, 31, and Sophie Walker were killed early Monday after Rodriguez crashed a 1992 Porsche roadster into a concrete pillar.
According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office report, Walker, 30, died at the scene. Rodriguez's agent, Magali Dubois Vaucher of Compear Sports Management, confirmed Rodriguez's death hours later, according to The Palm Beach Post (http://pbpo.st/1Pcpv7y ).
According to the sheriff's report, alcohol was a factor in the crash. Additional details were not immediately available.
Rodriguez was a world-class show jumper who regularly competed in tournaments across Europe and North and South America. He rode for Rancho Golden Point in Wellington.
