Benson, NE : Motorcyclist, 35, critically injured in Benson crash on Wednesday afternoon, August 31, 2016

A 35-year-old Omaha motorcyclist was critically injured Wednesday afternoon in a crash with a Honda Accord in Benson.

Police said the crash occurred at 12:30 p.m. at 67th Avenue and Maple Street.

The 2006 Accord was eastbound on Maple Street when it turned left onto northbound 67th Avenue in front of a 2007 Suzuki GSXR motorcycle that was westbound on Maple Street, police said.

The motorcycle crashed into the front passenger door of the Honda, which was driven by Suzanne Bauer, 55, of Omaha, police said.

The motorcyclist, Jeff Massey, was taken to Nebraska Medical Center for treatment of his injuries, including a broken pelvis, police said. He was wearing a helmet, police said. He was listed in fair condition Thursday.

The crash remains under investigation, police said.
