Rehoboth,DE : Two-vehicle crash in Salisbury sends 5 to hospital on December, Monday 25th 2017

Five people were taken to hospital with injuries after a Christmas Day crash on Old Ocean City Road in Salisbury, Maryland State Police say.

Police said in a news release the crash happened at around 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 on Old Ocean City Road at Pacific Avenue.

The crash happened after Ronald Lee Peek, 54, driving a Nissan Titan, failed to yield right way as he attempted to make a right turn from Pacific Avenue into Old Ocean City Road, pulling directly into the path of a Chevrolet Avalanche traveling eastbound on Old Ocean City Road , police said.

Both vehicles sustained heavy damage in the crash, police said.

The four people in the Chevrolet — driver Brandon Jamar Battle, 31, and Bethany Leigh Linn, 33, and two juveniles were taken to Peninsula Regional Medical Center with injuries. A passenger in the Nissan, Denise Carter, 49, was also taken to the hospital, police said.
