A 71-year-old woman was hit and killed Friday morning near Baxter Village in Fort Mill.
The collision reportedly happened around 7:45 a.m. near the intersection of Sutton Road and Market Street.
According to SC Highway Patrol, a woman - later identified as 71-year-old Elizabeth Williams, was walking east across Sutton Road when she was hit by a pickup truck. The truck was reportedly turning left onto Sutton Road from Founders Street.
Williams was taken to the hospital where she died. An autopsy and toxicology are pending. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.
