Saint Charles,IL: St. Charles County teen charged in deadly central Illinois crash on October, Thursday 12th 2017

A St. Charles County teen has been charged in connection with a fatal crash in central Illinois last month.

Tyler Dean Buch, now 17, of Oak Forest Drive, was charged Thursday with two felony counts of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs involving the deaths of Jason Mead, 31, of South Pekin, Ill., and Giovanni Hagan, 17, of the St. Louis area, on Sept. 1.

Buch was driving a car that crashed into an oncoming vehicle about 5:35 p.m. that day. Hagan, a passenger in Buch's car, and Mead, the driver of the oncoming pickup, were killed.

Buch was taken to a hospital, and hospital records show he tested positive for cannabis, according to court records.
