Florence,SC : Driver who died in I-20 crash identified on March, Sunday 18th 2018

The driver who died early Sunday morning in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 20 has been identified.

Justun Tarodd Simmons, 21, of Florence was the victim, Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken said Monday morning.

At approximately 2 a.m. Sunday, Simmons was headed east on I-20 when his Kia Optima ran off the left side of the road and into the median before he overcorrected and ran off the right side of the road and into a tree at about the 140-mile marker, according to Lance Cpl. David Jones of the South Carolina highway Patrol.

Simmons died at the scene, Jones said.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing, Jones said.
