Houston,TX : 1 killed in head-on accident on July, Friday 21th 2017

A head-on accident Friday afternoon claimed the life of one person, according to Trooper Charles Gillham with the Liberty County office of the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Around 5:41 p.m., a Ford F-250 with a male driver was eastbound on FM 787 when he came up behind a vehicle making a right turn in front of him, Gillham said. To avoid hitting the vehicle, the driver reportedly swerved into the westbound lane of traffic and struck a Hyundai Tucson occupied by one woman, who was killed upon impact.
The male driver of the Ford truck was treated and released at the scene, the trooper said. The vehicle that the driver had swerved to avoid was not struck and that driver reportedly waited on scene to help authorities with the accident investigation.
The road was closed for four hours while emergency crews worked to clear the debris.
The names of the parties involved have not been released at this time. The deceased woman's name will not be released until her next of kin has been notified.
