Lexington County, SC : Two people died, one injured after a head-on collision on I-20 EB early Saturday morning, August 6, 2016

A head-on collision early Saturday morning on I-20 EB, near the exit for Hwy 378, killed two people and left one in the hospital.

Troopers with the South Carolina Highway Patrol say at about 3:26 a.m. a 2014 Kia was driving westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-20. The Kia struck another car, a 2015 Nissan, head-on before hitting a third car.

Both the driver of the Nissan and the Kia were killed in the crash.

The Lexington County Coroner identified the driver of the Kia as Franchescha Hope Rogers-Martinez, age 27, of Lexington. The coroner identified driver of the Nissan as Jarrad Denard Blade, age 32, of Decatur, Georgia. Both of their autopsies are scheduled for Sunday.

There was a 25-year-old passenger in the Nissan that was transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the third car only sustained minor injuries.

Troopers say the interstate was shut down for about six and a half hours.
