DRACUT, MA : Dracut woman dies in crash into tree, pole on Friday, 24th January, 2020

A 38-year-old Dracut woman died early Friday morning after her car crashed into a utility pole and tree, according to police.

Christine Dyer was pronounced dead at 3:44 a.m. after she was transported via MedFlight helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, said Dracut Deputy Police Chief David Chartrand.

At 12:55 a.m., police responded to a single car crash at 1835 Lakeview Ave., at the corner of Pearl Street. Dyer was trapped, and first responders used the Jaws of Life to free her from her 2006 Honda Pilot.

Chartrand said the cause of the crash is under investigation, but the preliminary report indicates that Dyer went off the road and drove over a snowbank. Her car then struck a utility pole and subsequently a tree. The Honda went up in the air and landed on top of another car in a nearby driveway, he said.
