Las Vegas, NV : Man dies in motorcycle crash on 215 Beltway in Las Vegas early Friday morning, August 19, 2016

A man died in an early Friday morning motorcycle crash on the south side of the Las Vegas Valley.

Nevada Highway Patrol trooper Jason Buratczuk said the 28-year-old man was traveling eastbound on the 215 Beltway and attempted to exit using the Jones Boulevard offramp when he crashed at about 1:25 a.m.

Buratczuk said the man steered the motorcycle into the dirt area between the Beltway and Jones and hit a highway signpost and a barrier before being thrown from the motorcycle.

The man, identified by the Clark County coroner’s office as Las Vegas resident Oriens De Jesus, was taken to University Medical Center where he later died. His cause of death was multiple blunt force injuries from a motor vehicle collision, and the manner was ruled an accident, according to the coroner’s office.

NHP investigators believe speed was a factor in the crash, and witnesses reported the man was driving recklessly.

This is the 46th traffic-related death NHP’s Southern Command has investigated this year.
