A woman was killed about 2 p.m. Tuesday when her sedan collided with a sports utility vehicle at Parkside Drive and East Pikes Peak Avenue, police reported.
The sedan was southbound on Parkside Drive when it entered the intersection with East Pikes Peak Avenue and was struck by the westbound SUV, the report said.
The woman driver was the sedan's sole occupant. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV was carrying two adults and two juveniles, all of whom were taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
This was the 17th fatal traffic collision in Colorado Springs this year. At this time last year, the city had 13 fatal traffic crashes.
