Warren,OH : Police say Warren shooting, crash related on October, Tuesday 10th 2017

A shooting Tuesday afternoon on the city’s southeast side that left at least one person injured is somehow connected to a police chase that ended with a two-car crash on the other side of town minutes later, according to police.

Police are still trying to piece together the events that started with gunfire just after 3 p.m. at 2254 Brier St. SE and the crash involving a white Ford at the intersection of Paige Avenue NE and Forest Street NE. As many as 10 to 15 gunshots were reported, according to call logs.

A man who was shot was taken to St. Joseph Warren Hospital, according to a 911 recording. Four people involved in the crash also were taken to the hospital, police said, including Shawndon Flowers, 22, who was booked into the Trumbull County Jail at 8:49 p.m. Tuesday on charges of having weapons under disability, failure to comply and driving under suspension.

The names and conditions of the other people involved weren’t available Tuesday night.

Lt. Jeff Cole said at the scene of the crash it was too early to release additional details as to what happened. He said Flowers and a passenger were in the white Ford and weapons had been found in the area of the crash.
