Lenox, MA : Three seriously injured in dramatic rollover crash in Lenox on Wednesday afternoon, August 24, 2016

At least three people suffered serious injuries in a spectacular rollover crash Wednesday afternoon in the center of town.

An infant in a car seat of one of the two vehicles involved was not included among the seriously injured, who were all adults, according to Lenox Police Chief Stephen O'Brien.

A Jaguar XF sedan with Florida plates was traveling west on Walker Street at high speed about 3:20 p.m. when it struck the curb and monument in the center of the Main Street intersection, according to witnesses. The vehicle went airborne, struck a Volkswagen Jetta, and then landed on its roof on the lawn of the Adams Community Bank building.

Both drivers and a passenger in the Jaguar were rushed from the scene via County Ambulance, police said. The condition of the infant, who was in the Volkswagen, was unclear.

Both vehicles suffered extensive damage. One of the Jaguar's tires came to rest dozens of feet away from the vehicle. The bank's lawn was strewn with car parts including a gas tank, bumper, a hood ripped from one of the cars and other debris.

Stockbridge and Lee police and Lenox firefighters were on the scene, and the state police accident reconstruction unit and crime scene services also were summoned.

Traffic was being diverted around the intersection while responders cleared the scene.

Identification of those involved in the crash and their conditions were not immediately available.
