Metro police officer killed in motorcycle accident

A Metro transit police officer returning from a training class was killed in a motorcycle accident Monday night.The officer, 32-year-old Dennis Henley of Westminster, was riding his motorcycle on Route 97 near Bartholow Road around 10 p.m. when he was hit by a pickup truck, the Carroll County's Sheriff's Department says.Henley died of his injuries early Tuesday morning.

He was on his way home from a training class at the Maryland Police & Correctional Training Commission Facility in Sykesville.The driver of the truck was not injured.
