Tallahassee,FL : Four injured in three-vehicle crash in Benson on September, Tuesday 12th 2017

Four people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 12 in front of the Case IH plant in Benson around 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol reported that a 1997 Ford pickup driven by Charles Saunders O’Malley, 63, of Benson, was eastbound and turning into the Case IH plant. It was struck by an eastbound 2014 Ford pickup driven by Gorden Allen Woltjer, 51, of Kandiyohi. The 2014 pickup was in turn struck by an eastbound 2003 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Shelby Lynn Harstad, 25, of DeGraff.


Harstad was transported to Centracare, St. Cloud. She was not wearing a seat belt. Her passenger, Preston Theodore Harstad, 1, of DeGraff, was not injured and was wearing a seat belt.

O’Malley, Woltjer, and Jesse Michael Taylor, 33, of Kissimmee, Florida, who was a passenger in the 2014 Ford pickup, were all transported to the Swift County-Benson Health Services Hospital in Benson. They were all wearing seat belts.

All of the injuries suffered by the four were described as non-life threatening.

The Swift County Sheriff's office, Benson Police and Fire, and State Patrol responded to the scene.
