Meriden, CT : Woman hospitalized after crash on Route 5 in Wallingford on Wednesday afternoon, December 28, 2016

A woman was hospitalized and three children escaped injury in a two-vehicle collision Wednesday afternoon on Route 5.

About 2:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area of 625 S. Colony Road. A teal BMW carrying three children under the age of 10 collided with a black Acura in the area of Chester and Willard avenues. Police on scene said the cause is under investigation.

One woman went to Yale-New Haven Hospital for evaluation. The three children weren’t injured, fire officials said.

Northbound traffic was blocked as the cars were towed from the scene.
