Jackson, MS : Victim has been identified as 61-year-old Johnny McDonald on Tuesday, July 18, 2017

The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Johnny McDonald.

MHP said around 4:37 p.m., they responded to a minor crash on I-20 East near mile marker 62 in Rankin County. MHP said while they were investigating that crash, A Ford Ranger that was traveling eastbound did not see the traffic ahead at a halt. The truck hit a Honda Civic in the rear that was stopped.

MHP said the truck hit another Honda Civic car and then it overturned and caught fire. The driver of the Ford sustained minor injuries. MHP said the driver of the first Honda died while being transported to the hospital.

The driver of the second Honda had minor injuries.
