South Hero, VT : Man dead in fatal crash on Route 2 in South Hero on Friday afternoon, August 5, 2016

Police say a man was killed when a car crashed into a farm truck parked in the breakdown lane of Route 2 in South Hero, Vermont.

Police say the victim died instantly and that his wife was seriously injured when their car crossed the center line and crashed Friday afternoon. Their identities weren’t immediately released.

Police said the injured woman was being treated at the University of Vermont Medical Center. Police said the driver of the truck was not seriously hurt.

Traffic on the busy road backed up.
