Brockton, MA : A pedestrian was injured when he was struck by a van at Intervale and Faxon streets On Saturday, August 13th, 2016

A pedestrian was injured when he was struck by a van Saturday morning.

Brockton police and firefighters responded to the area of Intervale and Faxon streets, about 9:19 a.m., for a report of a pedestrian accident.

Police were told a woman driving a U-Haul van struck another U-Haul, then hit a man with the truck, leaving him injured.

“The man said he and a woman he was working with were arguing over money that her brother owed him,” said Brockton police Sgt. Michael Dennehy.

The woman became upset that the man was asking her about the situation and she got into her U-Haul van and drove off, Dennehy said.

When she did so, the man put his hands up and tried to jump out of the way, but was knocked to the ground, Dennehy said. He was not run over.

The woman fled the scene and has not been located. Police were searching for a U-Haul with front-end damage.
