A Burrillville woman died on Monday, Oct. 23 following a two-car collision on Great Road.
Elaine Guy, 42, of Harrisville, was pronounced dead at Landmark Medical Center Monday morning. The driver of the other vehicle, Sarah Kravitz, 36, of Oxford, Mass., was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Police noted in a press release that both cars contained only the drivers, and had no passengers.
The accident took place around 7:40 a.m. in the area of 764 Great Road. According to a preliminary investigation, police said that one of the vehicles, driving north, crossed over the double yellow lines, and drove into southbound traffic.
The cause of the accident is reportedly still under investigation by reconstruction personnel, and police have asked that anyone who may have witnessed the crash call the department at 762-1213 ext. 0.
