Davenport, FL : Motorcyclist killed in a crash on Ronald Reagan Parkway on Thursday night, August 18, 2016

A 23-year-old motorcyclist on the Ronald Reagan Parkway was killed when he ran off the road, struck a pole and was ejected Thursday night, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Brandon Gregorich, of Kissimmee, was heading east about 10:30 p.m. on a silver 2007 Yamaha 660 motorcycle when he drifted south and hit a curb, the Sheriff's Office said. The motorcycle traveled 30 feet until it jumped the curb, traveled east along the sidewalk about 200 feet then through the grass for about 50 feet before striking the pole.

Gregorich was wearing a helmet. He died at the scene of the crash.

Evidence shows Gregorich was traveling faster than the posted speed limit of 45 mph, the Sheriff's Office said.

The road was closed for about four hours during the investigation.
