A woman was killed Friday after the SUV she was riding in collided with a log truck at the intersection of state Routes 534 and 87 around 6 p.m.


Trumbull County 911 reports state a woman in her 20s was the front-seat passenger of the SUV. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The male driver of the SUV suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to a Cleveland hospital, the 911 Center said.

The driver of the log truck was not injured and police said it appears he tried to stop to avoid the collision because there were skid marks on the pavement.

The log truck driver told troopers the SUV rolled through the stop sign. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is still investigating and no names had been released.
