Lapoint, UT : No injuries after School bus collides with UHP vehicle in Uintah County on Thursday, January 28, 2016

The investigation continued Thursday into a crash involving a Utah Highway Patrol vehicle and a school bus.

On Wednesday, a Uintah School District bus had just left Lapoint Elementary when it collided with a Utah Highway Patrol SUV that was pulling onto state Route 121 at the intersection of 10800 East.

The trooper was not responding to any call and did not have the car's lights and sirens on, according to the sheriff's office. The cause of the crash was still under investigation Thursday, but officials said that intersection has stop signs for northbound and southbound traffic, which was the way the school bus was traveling.

Approximately 30 elementary school-aged children were on board. No injuries were reported. Both the bus and the UHP vehicle sustained "significant" damage, according to the Uintah County Sheriff's Office.
