Anderson, IN : 53-year-old Fairmount woman killed in one-car crash on Saturday, August 20, 2016

A 53-year-old woman was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Saturday, according to a release from Madison County Sheriff Scott Mellinger.

A 911 caller following a vehicle headed southbound on County Road 200 East reported erratic and high-speed driving. The vehicle, a white Buick driven by LouAnn Beasley of Fairmount, then left the roadway on the east side and struck a utility pole just north of County Road 1400 North.

Beasley, who was wearing a seat belt, appeared to suffer a serious head injury in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's crash team is investigating and awaiting results of toxicology reports before releasing findings.

Alexandria Police Department, Summitville Fire and EMS and Madison County Emergency Management assisted at the scene.
