Grand Haven, MI : Woman hurt in hit-and-run crash in Holland Township on Sunday afternoon, August 21, 2016

A Holland woman riding a bicycle Sunday afternoon was injured when a car hit her before driving off, police said.

The crash occurred at 3:51 p.m. at a Holland Township intersection, said Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department.

The 28-year-old bicyclist, whose name was not released, was northbound on 120th Avenue and crossing Felch Street with a walk signal at the time of the crash, Douglas said. While the cyclist was crossing the intersection, an SUV turned right onto 120th from Felch to go south. The SUV struck the cyclist while turning and then fled south on 120th.

The driver of the SUV was described as a white man between 50 and 60 years old, Douglas said. The vehicle was a small white SUV with black trim around the windows.

The cyclist was taken to Holland Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and released.
