SAN BERNARDINO, CA : One killed, one critically hurt in vehicle crash near San Bernardino airport on Thursday, March 23rd 2017

San Bernardino police are investigating a fatal crash just outside the San Bernardino International Airport that killed one man and critically injured another early Thursday morning, according to initial reports.

The crash was first reported around 2 a.m. off Third Street near the airport.

Initial information shows the vehicle went off the roadway into a storm drain.

The driver, a man, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was critically injured and was taken to a hospital.

The preliminary investigation indicates that alcohol and excessive speed were factors in the crash, officials said. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Traffic Division of the San Bernardino Police Department at 909-384-5791.
