Somerset County, PA : 3 injured in head-on collision on Route 30 in Stoystown on Friday, August 26, 2016

Three people were transported for treatment following a head-on collision reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. Friday on Route 30 in Stoystown, Somerset County.

The highway remained shut down at 6 p.m. as state police investigated the crash.

According to a Somerset County Emergency Management spokeswoman, rescuers had to free occupants from both vehicles. Three were taken to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown, one by helicopter and two by ambulance, she said.

Firefighters from Stoystown, Friedens, Boswell and Jennerstown responded.
